Technical Ministry
Welcome to FBC Tech The Technical Ministry at First Baptist Church supports the many ministries of our church with sound, lighting and audiovisual needs. We are a worship ministry, using our talents in the technical arts to God's glory, building relationships through our "Tech Teams," and exemplifying servant hearts as we use tools to reach the lost.
The Tech Philosophy at First Baptist
- COMMITMENT. Members are expected to be at all rehearsals and events and be on time.
- Spiritual growth. Tech Team members are required to be members or attenders of First Baptist Church. They must be involved in a small group or Bible study where they experience confirmed spiritual growth. The Tech Team is a group that engages in worship leadership, but it cannot be the main source of spiritual growth for members.
- Excellence. This value is upheld in training and in hard work. Through regular training, Tech Team members increase skills. Hard work and devotion to excellence is expected of members as a means of offering an “unblemished sacrifice” (Malachi 1:14). Excellence does not mean perfection; it means doing the best with what you have and in the right spirit.
- Community. On the Tech Team, people come before performance. Members are expected to respect each other, support each other, be open and honest with each other, and to love each other. They are expected to keep from discouraging or disrespectful talk about anyone in the group, including themselves (Eph. 4:29). The goal of community is to create an environment of safety and support that will foster a healthy sense of camaraderie and team.
- Congruity. Tech Team members are expected to be authentic believers. Their speech and actions off campus should not contradict their leadership on campus. Team members are expected to be spiritually sincere (Acts 2:46)
